Women in Film Arkansas (WIFA) is the newest chapter of a global organization whose mission is to educate, empower, and inspire women to pursue careers in all areas of cinematic professions. Through encouraging professional development, providing access to networking, and enlightening the public about women’s creative and technical achievements, WIFA is a tool for women in making their dreams of success in the competitive industry of film a reality. We aim to become a pillar of creativity, education, and encouragement to all women in the great state of Arkansas who wish to each for the stars!

Our resources, connections, and advocates support a vibrant, creative community across the state. We offer an array of opportunities, including seminars and workshops with industry professionals targeting a variety of skills for the professionals of today, as well as for young girls to help them develop into the professionals of tomorrow. WIFA invites aspiring and current professionals from directors to screenwriters, or those who just love to watch a good flick, to become members, blazing the trail for Arkansan women. Facebook

Becky Bartlett

President

Becky Bartlett is an American actress who’s career began in Oklahoma. Focusing on camera technique studies, Becky quickly picked up several lead roles in commercials and began to pursue film roles. With a move to Arkansas in 2017, Becky led the AR Actor’s Co-op group and became a board member of Women in Film AR. She has representation from LA to the East Coast and is an active TV Host, Voice Over Artist, Lead and Supporting Actress in Film. She is currently in pre-production for her lead role in an upcoming dramatic episodic series, to be shot in Tunisia in 2021.

Becky has a desire to see tax incentives increase in the Natural State, which would incentivize film production and benefit Arkansas’ economy. She also has a passion for increasing education of all facets of the Film and TV industries through guest speakers, workshops and online classes. She wants the Arkansan acting community to be competitive for the sought after roles and crew positions when big budget films do choose AR for their motivating tax incentives.

 Angela VanZandt-Bumpass

Founder & Original Past President

Angela VanZandt-Bumpass is a screenwriter (15 feature scripts) and producer of Burbank, CA (hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas) with 5 feature projects in development and two TV pilots. Angela  is the Founder and Original Past President of Women in Film Arkansas and is a member of Women in Film Los Angeles.  Her new role for Women in Film Arkansas is that of Advisor and as the Los Angeles Liaison for all things film. Angela hopes to be a beneficial sustaining resource for her Women in Film colleagues.

Born in Rome, Georgia, she specializes in capturing the soul and spirit of the great American South… a region rich in story and character. Her writing is dialogue driven, and full of local color while maintaining a respect for all people.  Her stories have heart and get to the very soul if her audience.

Angela writes in multiple genres and is exceptionally quick and can meet a deadline in a hurry! This is due to her background in newspaper advertising and editorial.

Angela has loved film since she was a small child. She sold movies for a distributor for several years and earned five national sales awards in one year in that business for Sight & Sound Distributors representing all the major studios in Los Angeles. Angela also has a background in advertising and marketing. Her goal is to make as many films as possible in all genres, both as Features and as Series.

As a screenwriter and producer for the State of Arkansas, Angela produced several films and wrote many textbooks for IBooks. Angela owns VanZandt Films, LLC.  She was a salesperson at Tiffany & Co, in New York City, one of her most treasured life experiences.

She was Social Chairman and Assistant Rush Chairman of her college sorority at the U of A in Little Rock her first two years, which was Kappa Kappa Gamma. She can work a room!

Angela is an Impressionist painter, with a degree in Art from The University of Angela is an Impressionist painter, with a degree in Art from The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She has studied under Roller Wilson, Barry Thomas, and German master painter Guido Frick.

Personal; Angela is married to Rodger Bumpass, voice-over actor of Burbank (Squidward, Spongebob Squarepants).
